Aug 7-Aug 11,2010

Stars blinked,
sea-waves rose.
Strolling on the sea-shore,
holding hands under the sky.

Waves touched our feet,
our sight at horizon.
We two were mute,
fearing for some unknown reason.

Moon was crescent,
sky was dark.
Breeze was chill,
waves sounded sharp.

Our grasp got tighter,
looking at the sky we sighed.
Dark clouds came over,
hiding the moon behind.

Thoughts filled our mind,
as we looked back.
Some waves of cherished memories,
some chills of unforgivable times.

I knew the glass is broken,
i knew it can not be fixed.
I still tried to collect the pieces,
seeing my bruised hands i was perplexed.

As if its happening for real,
i just saw my hands.
Went again for the grasp,
but there was none.

Turned my head here and there,
ran all around the shore.
But all i can find,
were some footprints scattered.

Cried all night there,
lying on the sand.
Moon was no where,
even the breeze stood silent.

Don't know when i slept,
don't know when i woke up.
Hoping it was a bad dream,
i ventured for search once more.

Tired,i sat near a footprint,
staring at the design.
Wondering if the person is near,
again moved my head side to side.

It started raining,
i covered one of the print.
Hoping for some miracle,
i stayed there at the scene.

Rain stopped,
sand was wet.
I couldnt tell myself,
whether it was tears or rain drops.

People came to pick me up,
but i stayed with the print.
Don't know how many days i was there,
hoping to see someone from somewhere.

Sometimes things just fall apart,
harder you try, more you get hurt.
Don't know where all those prints are wandering today,
but that night's sand print is still in my drawer.
